Group Objectives

The main objective of the Grupo de Capoeira Regional Porto da Barra is to educate through capoeira, with the premise of enhancing, saving and preserving our culture, using capoeira in all its aspects as an instrument of social inclusion. In this way, the group aims to promote Porto da Barra:

•  Integration the community with the culture and history of the country;
•   social development of the citizens;
•   Development of self-esteem in children, youth and adults;
•   Expanding the practise of capoeira;
•   Encouraging the practise of sport;
•   Psycho-educational development to make students’ attendance at capoeira more enjoyable and frequent;
•   Dissemination and preservation of Mestre Bimba’s Capoeira Regional;
