As a certified professional capoeira technician, issued by the Portuguese Capoeira Federation, I bring expertise and passion to my capoeira training classes.

Teacher Introduction

Hello, I am Carlos Bastos, a 37-year-old capoeira practitioner with over 20 years of experience. My journey started in 2001 in Grupo de Capoeira Porto da Barra in Porto, Portugal, and since then I have been continuously learning and growing.

Under the guidance of Professor Castelo and Master Caramurú (Renivaldo Rodrigues de Jesus), I have participated in various championships and courses around the world to improve my skills and expand my knowledge. As a certified professional capoeira technician and capoeira sports coach, certified by the Portuguese Capoeira Federation and the Institute of Sport and Youth respectively, I bring a wealth of expertise and passion to my teaching.

I have been sharing my knowledge and love for capoeira through my teaching since 2007. I have been based in Estonia since 2015 and continue to inspire my students here. As a proud member of the Estonian Capoeira Federation, I welcome you to join me and discover the electrifying world of capoeira!

What is Capoeira?

Is Capoeira a good workout?

Do I need any prior experience to start Capoeira classes?

No, you do not need any previous experience to start capoeira classes. Our classes are suitable for both beginners and advanced students, and our expert teachers will help you learn at your own pace.

What should I wear to Capoeira classes?

Wear comfortable, light clothing in which you can move freely. Capoeira is usually practised barefoot, so you don’t need to worry about wearing special shoes. We also recommend that you bring a water bottle and a towel.

Are there age restrictions for Capoeira classes?

No, there are no age restrictions for Capoeira courses. Our classes are open to participants of all ages and fitness levels. We have separate classes for adults and children so that everyone can learn and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

What type of music is played during Capoeira classes?

Capoeira music is an essential part of the practise and typically consists of Brazilian instruments such as the berimbau, pandeiro and atabaque. The music sets the pace and mood of the class and provides a rhythm for the movements and techniques.
